Marine Harvest Study

Take part in important band-led research.

Take our survey to be entered into a chance to win an IPAD.

This survey will only take around 10 minutes to complete and it is very important for your community and leadership.

Your information will remain anonymous and will be used to inform Tsawout's independent review of the Kinder Morgan Pipeline marine shipping component.

Heath & Recreation Grants 2014

Just a reminder that proof of residency is needed for Health & Recreation Grant applications. Any of the following will be accepted:

  • Hydro bill
  • Phone bill
  • Cable bill
  • Revenue Canada child tax papers.  

Grant Application

 The mail that you hand in has to have your name on it. You have to be a Canadian resident to be eligible for the grant.  Handing in ID from the United States is not acceptable and you will not be eligible for the grant.


Food Sustainability and Community Gardening Workshops

Tsawout First Nation will be running a series of Workshops in March, April, May and June aimed at increasing knowledge and awareness about Food Sustainability, and traditional foods and medicines. We have designed these workshops in the past month and would like to test them out and ask for feedback. Dinner will be provided (Pizza). The workshops will run every Wednesday starting March 12, 2014 from 3:30-5:30. There will be door prizes and a small incentive for participating (gift cards) and providing feedback.

Introduction to Traditional Foods and Medicines for Diabetes

This workshop introduces some of the gifts of Northwest plants and then leads into the history and impacts of diabetes in Indian Country. It ties in how plants traditions might be useful for diabetes prevention and community wellness. Participants will gain an understanding of some of the traditional uses of some native plants, about the complex causes of diabetes, and be introduced to traditional uses of plants as a way to prevent and treat diabetes.


3rd Annual Health and Safety Fair
