Autumn News

LH pumpkins webThe students of Learning House had an opportunity to carve a pumpkin with staff and guests Naomi Adams and Tarkel Parker. On Halloween, the students had a blast jumping on the Fun Time Inflatable Obstacle and Bouncy Castle, and as always enjoyed getting their face painted by Susie Sunshine. Other activities that were enjoyed included dancing the cakewalk to “The Monster Mash”, Halloween Costume Parade and an after school Spaghetti Lunch, Halloween Treat Bags and Cupcake Decorating.  Thank you to families and friends of the Learning House for visiting the 3rd Annual Tsawout Learning House Halloween Carnival 2013. It was another successful event because you accepted our invitation to come, “cut loose” and PLAY once again!

S.T.E.M. Camp

I want to thank University of Victoria for S.T.E.M. Camp that helped during T.L.H. non-instructional day (NID). Parents, please remember that we are open on NID from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm as well as when schools have early dismissal. The next NID is November 8th.

Through the support of Tina Pierik, Vice-Principal of Stelly’s Secondary School, three University of Victoria Student Teachers are available to teach/tutor any student (youth or adult) of Tsawout Community, who may need extra support in Middle or Secondary School Math or Science. They are scheduled at Tsawout Learning House on Monday and Wednesday at 4:00 pm.

TLH Hours

Monday to Thursday 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm,  Friday 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Thank you parents/relatives for picking up your children on time.

Volunteers are welcome at T.L.H. any time, especially in November for Santa’s Helpers!
